Chandigarh: On 27.05.2023, a significant event called LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) Today was organized by the Chandigarh Traffic Police (CTP) at Kali Bari Light Point. The purpose of this event was to raise awareness and encourage individuals to adopt and promote an environmentally friendly lifestyle. One of the key aspects highlighted during the event was the need for individuals to refrain from excessive honking and to avoid contributing to noise pollution, particularly when encountering a green traffic signal.
As part of the initiative, 30 “No Honking” stickers were affixed to vehicles to serve as a visual reminder for drivers to refrain from honking unnecessarily. This step aimed to reduce noise pollution levels and create a more peaceful and sustainable environment.
Furthermore, to disseminate information about the detrimental effects of motor vehicle pollution, a total of 20 literature materials were distributed among the attendees. These materials provided comprehensive insights into the impact of motor vehicle emissions on the environment and public health. By raising awareness about this issue, the event sought to inspire individuals to make informed choices and take action to minimize their contribution to air pollution.
The event attracted a diverse audience, with a total of 40 members of the public actively participating and engaging in discussions. Through these interactions, participants were able to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of adopting eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.
