Thiruvannamalai: On the orders of Tiruvannamalai District Superintendent of Police Mr. K. Karthikeyan, IPS., Thiruvannamalai Prohibition Enforcement Division Police Assistant Inspector Mr. M. Suresh, in a search operation conducted by his team in Tiruvannamalai city area, Murthy (40) from Keilnathur area, Thirumanjana Gopura Street, near NSK Tea Shop, was arrested and appropriate action was taken against the person who was selling banned products like Gutka and Pan Masala. Gutka and Panmasala items weighing 5.438 kg were also seized from him.
Also on 26.8.2022 Sengam Prohibition Enforcement Division Police Inspector Ms.M.Malar, Tiruvannamalai Prohibition Enforcement Division Police Assistant Inspector Mr.M.Suresh and the policemen conducted a search and hunt in the forest area near Thattaranai, Thandarampatu Circle, and found about 3000 liters of illegal liquor. It was found in the town and thrown down and destroyed. 25 liters of bootleg liquor and a two-wheeler were also seized. Police are actively searching for the absconding accused.
