<![CDATA[A major storming operation was conducted by the Chennai city police headed by City Police Commissioner Mr.A.K. Viswanathan who undertook patrolling on Thursday night. Following complaints of thefts, robbery and bike racing, the city police have beefed up night patrolling. The storming operation has been in operation for the fourth consecutive night which commenced from Thursday night to Friday morning. The police stopped vehicles, questioned road users and detained those with previous criminal records. Mr. Viswanathan visited several places, including Kamarajar Road, a point near Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital and proceeded to checking points near Ega Theatre and Koyambedu. A senior official said that the commissioner gave instructions to conduct effective patrolling to bring down incidents of crime.]]>
