Mangalore: A 23-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly trying to molest a minor girl in Maravur of Mangalore taluk, police said on Thursday.
He has been identified as Gopal Binda, a native of Uttar Pradesh, police said.
According to the complaint of the parents of the girl, who is a laborer, the man entered the room of the laborer and tried to sexually assault the girl. The incident was reported on January 23.
A case has been registered against the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, police said.
