Karnataka, Mandya, April 19: In a significant initiative aimed at fostering inclusivity, trust, and transparent communication, the Mandya District Police organized a comprehensive grievance redressal meeting for members of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes at the Malavalli Taluk level.

The event was held under the leadership and guidance of the Hon’ble District Superintendent of Police, Shri Mallikarjuna Baladandi, IPS, who presided over the proceedings. Police officers and staff from the Malavalli sub-division were present in full strength, along with community leaders representing the SC/ST communities and members of the general public. The interaction provided a platform for citizens to voice their concerns, grievances, and suggestions directly to the police leadership in an open and respectful environment.

During the meeting, SP Shri Mallikarjuna Baladandi, IPS, emphasized the importance of community policing and urged citizens to come forward without fear whenever they face issues related to discrimination, injustice, or unlawful activities. He assured the attendees that the police would take swift and unbiased action on all legitimate complaints.

The police department also took the opportunity to raise awareness about various government welfare schemes available to SC/ST communities and encouraged the public to report any instances of social injustice or criminal exploitation.

Leaders from the SC/ST communities expressed appreciation for the police department’s outreach and responsiveness. Several grievances were noted for follow-up action, and contact points were established to ensure continued communication between community members and the local police units.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with a collective commitment from both the police and community representatives to work together for peace, safety, and social harmony in the region.
