Hyderabad, Telangana: In a significant breakthrough, the Mangalhat Police Station successfully apprehended five members of a gang allegedly involved in the murder of Rushab Agarwal alias Sunny Agarwal at Aramghar Colony under the limits of Mangalhat.
The arrested accuseds have been identified as Munna Singh, Laddu Singh alias Laddu, Maddur Pranaya Kumar, Thippani Uday Kiran alias Uday, and Kushangal Om Prakash. Three other accused — Aminesh Singh alias Amresh, Kunal Singh, and Mamu — remain absconding, and efforts are underway to secure their arrest.
According to the investigation, the prime accused, Munna Singh, a real estate and finance businessman, suspected the deceased of having links with a rival group following his recent release from jail. Acting on this suspicion, the accused allegedly confined the victim in a shed and assaulted him. He was later shifted to a Ganesh idol-making unit at Aramghar, where he was again attacked. The victim succumbed to severe internal injuries at the scene. The accused subsequently moved the body to another location before fleeing.
Based on a complaint lodged by the deceased’s mother, a case was registered in Crime No. 88/2026 under Sections 103(1) read with 3(5) of the BNS. During the course of investigation, police teams meticulously analyzed CCTV footage, identified the suspects, and tracked their movements.
On February 27, 2026, at around 2:00 PM, the police apprehended the five accused and seized three mobile phones and two Activa two-wheelers allegedly used in the commission of the offence. The accused have been produced before the Hon’ble Court.
The arrests were carried out under the supervision of senior officers of the Golconda Zone and Kulsumpura Division, along with the SHO, investigating officers, and staff of Mangalhat Police Station. The swift action and coordinated efforts of the police team have been widely appreciated, reflecting their firm commitment to ensuring justice and maintaining law and order.
