Manipur: On 16/12/2019 at about 2.50 pm acting on specific information a combined team of District Police Cammondo, Kakching and 39 Assam Rifles conducted search operation at Kakching Ningthou Leikai. During the operation one drug peddler namely, Mrs. Thokchom Ongbi Yengkhom Sharmila Devi W/o Th. Deepak Singh was arrested along with 214 bottles of MACODIN syrup containing codeine phosphate and chlorpheniramine. On further investigation, her accomplice namely Mrs. Naorem Reena Devi aged 41 W/o N. Bimol Singh of Kakching Ningthou Leikai, LIC Mamang Pareng along with two persons who supplied the contraband items namely, Haobijam Shyam Meetei S/o H. Tomba Singh of Thanga Chingshanglakpa Leikai A/p Kongpal Kongkham Leikai Porompat and Kangbam Shaymkumar Singh S/o K. Shyamo Singh of Kakwa Maibam Leikai were arrested. In this regard, a case has been registered at Kakching Police Station for further investigation.
