Manipur, Churachandpur: On November 4, 2024, the Manipur Police carried out a significant operation targeting illegal alcohol production at K Vangphai Village in Churachandpur. During the raid, law enforcement officials discovered a clandestine brewing and distilling unit dedicated to the production of DIC liquor. The police promptly dismantled this illicit facility, resulting in the arrest of two individuals involved in the operation. In addition to the destruction of the brewing equipment, the authorities seized a four-wheeled vehicle that was likely used for transporting the illegal liquor.
Following this initial raid, the police conducted a second operation at the LFC Inn, where they uncovered additional quantities of illegal DIC liquor. During this raid, the owner of the inn was apprehended as part of the enforcement action. In total, the police seized approximately 1500 liters of DIC liquor along with 500 cans of beer, all of which were subsequently disposed of in accordance with legal procedures. This coordinated effort reflects the ongoing commitment of law enforcement to combat the illegal production and distribution of alcoholic beverages in the region.
