Tamil Nadu, Tirunelveli: In line with the initiative “Let’s Teach Self-Defense and Protect Women”, the Tirunelveli District Police have launched a 25-day martial arts training camp for women and children. The program, initiated under the guidance of District Superintendent of Police N. Silambarasan, I.P.S, was inaugurated by Valliyur Additional SP Prasanna Kumar, I.P.S, and is being led by Airavadi Inspector Sudha.
Fifty girls and young women are receiving training in silambam and basic self-defense techniques. The police are also providing participants with meals and tracksuits. Officials stated that the camp aims to boost self-confidence and empower women and children through practical self-protection skills.
