Kerala, Kasaragod: As part of Operation D Hunt, Nileshwaram Police conducted a search near the railway station, leading to the arrest of Vishnu P (29), a resident of Singapore Quarters, Patannakkad. He had been banned from the district under the Kappa Act but unlawfully entered in violation of the order. During the search, 19.200 grams of MDMA were seized from his possession.
At around 9 AM, while monitoring passengers from the Kannur-Yesvantpur train, SCPO Dileesh, part of a team led by Nileshwaram SI Arun Mohan, identified the accused, who attempted to flee upon seeing the police. He was swiftly apprehended with the help of other officers. A habitual offender involved in multiple drug cases, Vishnu was searched in the presence of a gazetted officer, and the contraband was recovered from his pants pocket.
A case has been registered against him for violating the Kappa Act and for possession of narcotics. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Kasaragod District Police Chief Shilpa DIPS, following the instructions of Kanhangad DYSP Babu Peringeth and Nileswaram Inspector Nibin Joy. The arrest was executed efficiently by SI Arun Mohan, SCPOs Mahesh & Dileesh, and CPOs Ajith & Jithin Murali.
