Chennai: Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. MK Stalin’s speech at the presentation of the Presidential Medals of the President of India, the Medals of the Union Home Minister and the Medals of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on 27.5.2022 at the Rajaratnam Stadium, Egmore, Chennai:
We call the police “your friend”. Medals should be awarded to those who are such friends and to those who behave as friends. The guards who excel in the task of protecting the people from being the guards of the people should be commended.
The police must act in such a way as to say, “The police are our friend.” Police stations should function like public relations security offices.
I have said in the Assembly that one hand is the administration of the Government of Tamil Nadu and the other hand is the police. Through this you can realize the importance of policing
Drug trafficking should be completely prevented.
Mercenaries should be completely wiped out.
Counterfeiting should be completely eradicated. To create such an environment, the Tamil Nadu Police should win the overall peace medal.
