Commissioner Mr. Amulya Patnaik was at finding out ways to improve coordination among the police forces for the smooth conduct of the forthcoming Lok Sabha election and to share terror-related intelligence and inputs about various extremist outfits and their designs in the prevailing circumstances, they said. A Senior Police Officer said, in the meeting stress was applied on increasing intensive and coordinated checking and patrolling at vulnerable points to curb movement of illicit liquor, firearms, cash and musclemen. Further, in the meeting emphasis was given on giving importance to Tenant verification, guesthouse checking and sensitization of cyber cafe owners, and second-hand car dealers in order to strengthen the counter-terrorism measures, especially during the elections, by taking action against anti-social elements. A briefing was given on the sharing of advance intelligence to all the officers having inter-State ramifications on law and order, the police added. The meeting was attended by Delhi Police officers and Police officers from Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh,Rajasthan, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh. ]]>
