Rachakonda: As part of the Green India Challenge Initiative, Rachakonda Police in association with Rotary Club of Hyderabad Elite and Neuland Labs, conducted a mega sapling plantation of over 3000 saplings, today at Medipally village, Rachakonda Commissionerate land.
The event was presided by Commissioner of Police Mr. D.S. Chauhan, IPS. In his address, he appreciated the plantation drive and elaborated on the significance of trees in restoring Oxygen levels of the environment.
The Commissioner said that Haritha Haram of Hon’ble Chief Minister is the inspiration behind the novel initiative of Green India Challenge. He added that Hon’ble MP Sri J. Santosh Kumar has been the pioneer of the Green India Challenge Initiative and laudable contribution has been made by this initiative, in enhancing the forest cover in Telangana. He mentioned that Telangana State tops in enhancing the forest cover. There is definite need to promote and make people aware about the significance of planting trees and its overall impact on the environment, the Commissioner said.
Neuland Labs HR Head Mr. P. Hemachandra said that their company is happy to be associated with this mega project. 200 plus volunteers including Neuland Labs employees and students of Aurora College participated in the event. The Rotary Club which is the implementation partner of this plantation project has been instrumental in bringing together the stake holders. Rotary Club of Hyderabad Elite afforestation project Chairman Rtn. Himanshu Guptha and President Rtn. Rohit Agarwal took part in the program.
The event was also attended by the Jt. Commissioner of Police Mr. V. Satyanarayana IPS., DCP Malkajgiri Mrs. D. Janaki IPS., Addl. DCP Admin Ms. C. Narmada, Addl. DCP CAR Mr. Shameer, ACP Malkajgiri Mr. Naresh Reddy, SHO Medipally, Mr. G. Govardhanagiri etc.
