Meghalaya Police give COVID-19 Guidelines

East Khasi Hills: The Meghalaya Police has given the COVID-19 guidelines to the public in order to curb the spread of COVID-19 infection.

The Guidelines that are applicable for the entire state is as follows:
1. Political, public, social, and religious gatherings are not permitted.

  1. Entry of tourists from outside the state will not be permitted and all tourists’ spots will be closed.
  2. International border trade shall be suspended.
  3. Sports activities will not be permitted.
  4. Deputy Commissioners may restrict weekly markets and border hats depending on the situation in their districts.
  5. DC’s may close educational institutions in their district as per the situation.
  6. DC’s may impose other restrictions in their district depending on the local situation.
  7. Inter-State movement of persons will be restricted.
  8. MBOSE Examination scheduled on 11th and 12th May 2021 postponed until further orders.

The Guidelines that are applicable for East Khasi Hills District is as follows:

  1. Funeral gathering to be restricted to 15 persons with the prior permission of DC.
  2. Educational institutions will remain closed.
  3. Places of religious worship will remain closed except for wedding ceremonies aldready permitted by the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi hills.

The Guidelines that are applicable for Other Districts are as follows:

  1. Weekend Lockdown will be enforced in 10 other districts from 5 AM of 15th May 2021 till 5 AM of 17the May 2021.

The Guidelines that are applicable for East Khasi Hills District is as follows:

  1. Lockdown to be extended from 5 AM of 10th May 2021 till 5 AM of 17the May 2021.
  2. Inter-District movement of persons from and to East Khasi Hills District will be restricted.
  3. Banks and post offices will remain open with limited staff.
  4. All Central and State Government offices will be closed.
  5. Exempted Government offices may function with limited staff.
  6. E-Commerce and home delivery services will be permitted subject to adherence to regulations.
  7. Restaurants, cafes, and food delivery services are permitted only for home delivery services subject to regulation by the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills.
  8. In-situ construction works that do not involve movement of labor are permitted with due intimation to the DC.
  9. Weddings already permitted may be held restricted to family members not exceeding 15 persons.
