Madurai, Tamil Nadu, June 7: Minister for Commercial Taxes and Registration, Shri P. Moorthy, inaugurated a newly constructed additional classroom block at Palamandiram Higher Secondary School in Viswanathapuram, Madurai. The ceremony was attended by District Collector Dr. M.S. Sangeetha, Madurai Corporation Mayor Smt. Indirani, and Revenue Divisional Officer Smt. R.D. Shalini.
Later, at the District Collector’s Office, the Minister participated in a welfare programme organized by the Department for the Welfare of Differently-Abled Persons. As part of the initiative, petrol scooters equipped with supportive wheels were distributed to 286 differently-abled beneficiaries, at a total cost of ₹2.91 crore.
Madurai South MLA Shri M. Bhoominathan, District Welfare Officer for the Differently-Abled Shri N. Saminathan, and other dignitaries were present during the distribution ceremony.
