Karnataka, Bengaluru: A City Armed Reserve (South) police head constable, who had been missing since February 9, was found dead in a building in Adugodi on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Mubarak Sikandar Mujawar, who had served in the police department for seven years. Authorities suspect he may have died by suicide on the day he went missing.
Sikandar, a native of Belgaum, had reportedly taken a large loan and was believed to be struggling with online gaming addiction. Investigators also suspect he had financial difficulties, including a personal loan based on his salary, and may have been addicted to alcohol.
His decomposed body was discovered by Adugodi police after his wife, who had traveled to her hometown for childbirth, raised concerns. The couple had been married for three years.
Sikandar’s body has been sent to St. John’s Hospital for a post-mortem examination. His colleagues had filed a missing person complaint on February 9. Further investigations are ongoing.
