The fruitful result of the untiring 24/7 sharp vigil, alertness and diligence of the men and women led to another huge success in the War on Drugs. The coordinated and proactive action by all LEAs, real time intelligence sharing, public support, synergy with NGOs and other Government departments, etc. have, of late resulted in huge recovery of drugs. Champhai Police recovered and seized 5.688 Kg which is 5688 grams of heroin worth over Rs.28 crore in the international market, in 4 different cases/instances in the last 24 hours within Khankawn and Tuipui areas.
In the second instance last night around 9 pm Khankawn Police check gate duty seized 2 soap cases (24 grams) of heroin from the illegal possession of Siamluaia (38) s/o Norothanga of Vaphai, Champhai District.
Thirdly yesterday morning at Khankawn Police check gate firstly 5484 grams of heroin was seized last night at 11.30pm from the illegal possession of Lalramluahpuii(22) daughter of Zalianthanga of Zokhawthar and Zodinpuia(30) son of Zalianthanga of Zokhawthar. Their vehicle was intercepted near Tuipui. The contraband was hidden inside the packets of puff corn. In the fourth instance this morning Champhai Police seized 12 soap cases, (156 grams) at Champhai Vengsang, from 1 vehicke driven by R. Lalrinkhuma (37) son of Thangkunga(L) of Tarpho village.
