Tirunelveli: A person named Isakipandi (21) from Manoor, Etangulam, Tirunelveli district, believed in a fake job advertisement on the Facebook page of an airline company paid Rs.6 lakh 25 thousand to a person who contacted the phone number and told that he will be given a job. As Izakkipandi went to the company and inquired about it, he came to know that the accused person was cheating in the name of the company as he had been cheating after receiving the money. Isakipandi then submitted a petition to Tirunelveli District Superintendent of Police Mr. Saravanan IPS.
Accordingly, based on the case Tirunelveli District Cyber Crime Additional Superintendent of Police, Mr. Raju IPS, ordered Cyber Crime Police Inspector Mr. Raj, while the police led by them were looking for the criminal, on information received that he was in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, Cybercrime Police Inspector Mr. Raj, Assistant Inspector Mr. Rajaratnam, and the police together went to Noida, Uttar Pradesh and arrested Chotukumar (21) from Kapur, Samashtipur, Bihar on 2.9.2022 and remanded him to judicial custody. Tirunelveli District Superintendent of Police said that strict action will be taken against those who commit such online crimes and public should not lose money by relying on unnecessary advertisements on websites.
