Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, December 15, 2025: In a major boost to law enforcement and public safety, the Madhya Pradesh Police have achieved remarkable success in a statewide special campaign against absconding criminals, arresting more than 1,100 wanted persons within just three days.
The intensive operation was carried out under the guidance of Director General of Police Shri Kailash Makwana, with the objective of strengthening law and order, ensuring strict compliance with court orders, apprehending long-absconding criminals, and further reinforcing peace and security across the state. As part of the campaign, simultaneous combing operations and raids were conducted across multiple districts, yielding significant results.
During the special drive, police teams arrested over 1,100 individuals against whom permanent and arrest warrants were pending. In addition, more than 700 surveillance criminals, history-sheeters, and known offenders were checked and monitored. The operation not only brought absconding criminals within the ambit of the law but also played a vital role in preventing future crimes and dismantling organized criminal networks.
District-wise achievements include:
* Balaghat: Police arrested 51 long-absconding permanent and arrest warrant holders. Over 140 surveillance criminals and listed offenders were checked, with raids conducted at their residences and suspected hideouts.
* Katni: A total of 145 accused persons were taken into custody, including 23 permanent and 82 arrest warrant holders. Police also registered 30 new cases related to illegal liquor storage and sale. Strict action was taken against drunk driving under the Motor Vehicles Act, enhancing road safety.
* Chhatarpur: Under the Nyay Path Abhiyan, police arrested over 200 accused, including 40 permanent warrant holders, 76 arrest warrant holders, and criminals carrying rewards worth ₹52,000. Several accused involved in illegal arms, gambling, and illicit liquor trades were apprehended, and weapons and cash were seized.
* Morena: Police arrested around 125 permanent and arrest warrant holders, along with seven rewarded absconders worth ₹29,000. Raids were conducted on the hideouts of history-sheeters and externed criminals, effectively curbing organized crime.
* Gwalior: The district police arrested 250 warrant holders, including 121 permanent and 129 arrest warrant holders. Detailed verification of 348 goons and history-sheeters was conducted, along with strict action against illegal liquor and gambling activities.
* Guna: A district-wide coordinated operation led to the arrest of 43 long-absconding warrant holders, many involved in serious offences. Intensive searches were conducted at the hideouts of goons, exterminatedcriminals, and reward-listed offenders.
* Sehore: In a night-time combing operation, police arrested 145 warrant holders and verified 157 surveillance criminals. Firm action was taken in cases related to gambling and illegal liquor under the Excise Act.
* Mandsaur: Police arrested 175 warrant holders, including 130 permanent and 42 arrest warrant holders, focusing on criminals who had been absconding for long periods and posing a threat to public order.
The statewide special operation has proven to be a decisive and effective step in controlling absconding criminals, organized crime, illegal liquor trade, gambling, arms trafficking, and habitual offenders. Senior police officials appreciated the dedication, coordination, and professionalism of the district police teams, reaffirming that such focused campaigns will continue to ensure a safe, peaceful, and law-abiding Madhya Pradesh.
