Chennai: The Chennai Metropolitan Police Commissioner, during a bicycle patrol in Denampettai, visited the house of the Chief Constable who was receiving treatment for a broken shoulder after being hit by a two-wheeler and presented him with a new bicycle.
Chief Constable M. Senthil Kumar, is working at E-3 Denampet Police Station. He used to patrol on his bicycle daily.
In this situation, Mr. Senthil Kumar was on his way to the police station from Anna Arivalayam, Annasalai, Thenampet, at around 12.30 pm on 12.10.2021 when he was on duty.
He met with an accident with a person who was driving a two-wheeler. The two injured were taken to the hospital in an ambulance and an examination revealed that Collar Bone had fractured near the left shoulder of Chief Constable Senthil Kumar. Pasullah who was driving a two-wheeler sustained abrasions on his body. Chief Constable Senthilkumar, who was treated for a fracture, was advised to rest at home as advised by doctors. Also, regarding the above accident, Chief Constable Senthilkumar has lodged a case with the R-4 Pondicherry Bazaar Traffic Investigation Division and is being investigated.
Chennai Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mr. Sankar Jiwal, IPS, on 13.10.2021, the evening went to Alandur, M.K.N. and met Chief Constable Senthil Kumar who lives there and inquire about the injury.
He then examined the clinician document, the X-ray, and instructed him to follow medical advice. Also, as it was revealed that the Chief Constable was often patrolling on a bicycle, the Commissioner of Police said that they had damaged the bicycle during the accident.
Instead, he presented the new bicycle to Chief Constable Mr. Senthil Kumar and wished him a speedy recovery. The Police Commissioner heard the family’s grievances and promised to take action soon.
