Giridih: On 08.02.2008, during the operation Mahavir in Parsnath hill under the Pirtandh district of Giridih district, the police forces fired on the militants. Also, the police force showed indomitable courage and bravery.
The militants were charged, forcing them to flee. In this event, Mr. Yama Thapa of JHP PU-1, Doranda, Ranchi lost his life thereby attaining martyrdom while showing his bravery. He was posthumously honored on 15 November 2008
