Kerala, Ernakulam Rural: In a significant development for Ernakulam Rural district, Ms. Hemalatha M. IPS has officially taken charge as the 60th District Police Chief, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to community welfare and law enforcement.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Hemalatha emphasized her dedication to prioritizing issues concerning women and children, assuring that their safety and well-being will remain a central focus of policing efforts in the district. She also reaffirmed the department’s unwavering stance against narcotics, stating that anti-drug campaigns will continue with renewed intensity.
An accomplished officer from the 2017 IPS batch, Hemalatha previously served as the Commandant of the Rapid Response and Rescue Force, and holds a postgraduate degree in Integrated Water Resources Management. Her career reflects a broad spectrum of field experience, having served in key roles across Attappadi, Perinthalmanna, Kozhikode City, Kannur Rural, the Malabar Special Force, and KAP 4th Battalion.
