Ernakulam Rural: Jitus, a 24-year-old resident of Palakkal house in Edavanakkad, Njarakkal, was arrested and formally charged under the provisions of the Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, commonly known as the Kappa Act. Following his arrest, he was remanded to Viyyur Central Jail. The order for his arrest was issued by Ernakulam District Collector SK Umesh, based on a detailed report submitted by Dr. Vaibhav Saxena IPS, the District Police Chief of Ernakulam Rural.
Jitus is identified as the third accused in the brutal murder of Gajendra Kumar, which took place at Kuzhupilli beach in December 2018. The murder case has garnered significant attention due to the heinous nature of the crime, with multiple individuals implicated in the conspiracy and execution.
The arrest operation was meticulously planned and executed by a dedicated police team under the leadership of Njarakkal Police Inspector Sunil Thomas. The team included Sub-Inspector Akhil Vijayakumar, as well as Civil Police Officers Anthony Freddy, KM Prajith, and NC Deepak. Their efforts in tracking down and apprehending Jitus were part of a broader investigation into the murder, which has been ongoing since the incident occurred. The police have been systematically pursuing all leads to bring those responsible to justice, and Jitus’ arrest marks a significant step forward in the case.
