Port Blair: Under the supervision of Mr. Vinay Mathur, DANIPS, Deputy SP, Narcotics, the Narcotics Cell of the CID Unit in A&N Police successfully intercepted and apprehended D. Prem Kumar (25) years S/o Mr. D. Bogeshwar Rao, a former Cargo Staff of Go Air, VSI Airport, who arrived at Port Blair from Kolkata on 16.07.2023 via flight. The team was consisting of SI Mohd. Rahil Islam, ASI Sanjay Yadav, Constable Ratan Das, Nandita Mistry, Vishal Kumar, and M. Raja Rao, seized a concealed amount of 3.564 Kilograms of Ganja from Kumar’s bag and promptly arrested him, following all required protocols.
A case has been registered at PS CCS under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act-1985. During the interrogation, D. Prem Kumar revealed that he had traveled to Kolkata on 14.07.2023 with a lady named Dhanlaxmi, who had purchased the ganja there. Dhanalakshmi (21) years D/o Mr. Tata Rao, identified as the mastermind, was also arrested after confessing her involvement. She disclosed that she bought the ganja worth Rs.50,000/- for Abdul Mazid, who provided financial assistance in exchange for a share in the profits. Abdul Mazid (28) years S/o Mr. Abdul Rasid was subsequently arrested for his role in supporting the commission of this crime. The investigation of this case is currently underway.
