Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu: In a positive step towards strengthening policing capabilities, the City Sniffer Dog Squad of Tirunelveli has welcomed a new puppy into its unit.
The squad currently consists of four trained sniffer dogs—Remo and Cooper for bomb detection, Bharani for criminal investigations, and Lucky for narcotics detection. Enhancing this dedicated team, a new puppy has now been inducted to further support future operations.
Sekar Deshmukh Sanjay, Commissioner of Police, officially named the puppy “Brownie” and emphasized the importance of providing proper training and care to all squad members. He also directed personnel to maintain high standards in handling and grooming the dogs to ensure operational efficiency.
The event was attended by S. Vijayakumar and other police officials, reflecting the department’s commitment to modernizing and strengthening its investigative and security resources.
