After conducting raids at 8 locations to disrupt a conspiracy hatched by PFI cadres to carry out targeted killing in East Champaran District in Bihar on 4.2.2023, NIA has arrested 2 accused on 5.2.2023 who had arranged weapons and ammunition to carry out the killing. The recce had already been conducted to execute a target. The arms and ammunition had been handed over to a PFI Trainer, Yakoob, who had been conducting Training Sessions for
PFI cadres. Some days ago, Yakoob, the PFI trainer, had posted a derogatory and inflammatory Facebook video post, which was aimed at disturbing peace and communal harmony. Other users of FB had commented and trolled this postabusively.The absconding accused Yakoob and 2 arrested accused had identified some of them and had conspired to execute the killing of the targeted concerned person. The raids and arrests were made on the basis of a case registered by the NIA, which pertains to involvement of PFI and its leaders and cadres in violent and unlawful activities, who had assembled for that purpose in the Phulwarisharif area of Patna.
The case was initially registered with an FIR No 827/2022 dated 12.07.2022 at Phulwarisharif Police Station, Patna District, Bihar and re-registered by NIA on 22.7.2022. With these arrests, a PFI module planning targeted killing and disrupting communal harmony has been unearthed and busted. The arrested are: Tanveer Raza alias Barkati s/o Md Abdulllah R/o Bahadurpur, Mehsi, East Champaran, Bihar; Md Abid alias Aryan s/o Md Rustam, R/o vill BahadurPur, Police Station Mehsi, District East Champaran, Bihar. Earlier, 4 persons were arrested and several incriminating articles/documents related to PFI were seized in the instant case. During the searches conducted on, 4.2.2023 multiple digital devices were seized. Further investigations in the case are in progress.
