Rachakonda: The offender Bodusu alias Badasu Kalyan hailed from LB Nagar, Near Krupa complex, Neredmet and has been habitually engaging himself in unlawful acts and indulging in the acts of goondaism by acting as leader/member of a criminal gang and committed gruesome and heinous offenses in the Police Station limits of Neredmet of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate. He threatens petty business people who are doing their business besides the roads on pushcarts to give him Mamools and they apprehended fear of running their business which affects their livelihood.
Within the period of 2012 and 2019, he was involved in as many as 7 offenses such as Attempt Murder, causing Hurt, Criminal intimidation, wrongful restrain, and extortion from petty business people within the limits of Neredmet Police Station. With a view to keep surveillance over his activities, a Rowdysheet was also opened at Neredmet Police Station. Even though, he could not mend his attitude, his way of life and resorted to indulging in similar activities soon after being released from jail.
He was earlier convicted in a case of voluntarily causing hurt with a deadly weapon in the limits of PS Neredmet Police station. In this case, he was sentenced to undergo 2 years imprisonment. But, he preferred an appeal before the Sessions Court and got the sentence suspended. As a consequence of this suspension of the sentence, he came out of the prison and was again involved in as many as 3 cases of extortion, Attempt to murder, and outraging the modesty of a woman within the limits of Neredmet Police station.
He was arrested by Neredmet Police in cases registered against him at Neredmet Police Station and was remanded to judicial custody and lodged in Central Prison, Cherlapally on 26-05-2020.
With a view to preventing him from indulging in such criminal activities, C.P, Rachakonda issued detention orders under PD Act and detained him in Central Prison, Cheriapally on 02-09-2020 and further had the initiative to launch a speedy trial against him.
The investigation Officer, Mr. K. Shiva Kumar, Addl. DCP, Kushaiguda Division investigated the case of Outraging Modesty of Scheduled Caste Woman, gathered evidence, and filed a Charge sheet before the Court.
The Hon’ble Court of SC, ST Cases Cum ADJ Court, LB Nagar conducted a trial in the said case and convicted him to undergo 5 years rigorous imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs.5000/- on 23-08-2021.
In these cases, Mr. S. Prathap Reddy, Addl. PP, and CDO, Ch. Gowtham Kumar PC have attended on behalf of the prosecution.
In this regard, CP Rachakonda appreciated the staff of PD Cell, prosecution staff who have attended on behalf of the prosecution for their exemplary work done in securing a conviction against the PD accused. They will be rewarded suitably.
