Vijayawada City, NTR District, May 11, 2025: In a proactive step to maintain peace and curb anti-social behavior, police officers across the Vijayawada City Police Commissionerate conducted counseling sessions for rowdy-sheeters, habitual offenders, and suspects on Sunday, as per the directives of In-Charge Police Commissioner Sri Sarva Shrestha Tripati, I.P.S.
The initiative was undertaken simultaneously across all police stations in the Commissionerate. Station House Officers (SHOs) and their teams engaged individuals with criminal backgrounds and those under surveillance for law and order or criminal cases. The aim was to sensitize them about the consequences of unlawful behavior and to encourage them to lead responsible, law-abiding lives.
During the sessions, officers clearly conveyed that zero tolerance will be shown towards repeat offenders, drug usage, and involvement in violent or unlawful activities. The police emphasized the importance of rehabilitation, positive behavior, and staying away from bad influences and addictions, including marijuana and other narcotic substances.
“Everyone has the right to reform and rebuild their lives. But if anyone chooses to return to crime or disturb public peace, the law will take its course,” officers stated during the counseling. They also warned that individuals under watch will be monitored closely, and any recurrence of misbehavior would result in swift and strict legal action.
This initiative reflects the humane and reformative approach of NTR Police, demonstrating their commitment not just to enforcement, but also to preventive policing and social rehabilitation. Citizens and local community leaders welcomed the move, appreciating the efforts to guide misguided individuals towards a better future.
