On the occasion of Kaanum pongal DSP Rajendran led security arrangements at Palaverkadu

Tiruvallur: “Kaanum pongal” (sight-seeing) celebrations is held on the fourth day of the pongal festival. Kaanu pongal is also known as the feast of the virgins. In the event of this festival, every family will meet their relatives and friends to have fun filled get together in this awesome time, youngsters will seek blessings from elders.

During kaanum pongal in the cities of Chennai and Tiruvallur, people will visit tourist places, including the beach and other destinations to go as a family.

On the occasion of kaanum pongal in ponneri near Palaverkadu a lot of families are coming to the beach and to maintain the security arrangements in Tiruvallur District.

As per the instructions of Superintendent of Police Mrs. Ponni, IPS and under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Mr. Pawan Kumar, IPS, more than 100 police personal deployed under the Deputy Superintendent of police Mr. Rajendran.  DSP has put great efforts to control the crowd. Police has done a very good Job.

To prevent disasters the boat travel has been banned in Palaverkadu. The vehicles are allocated to be parked at the Light House area. The female police personal are patrolling in the informal dress to prevent the incidents of mocking of women.  The high tower is set up for the surveillance work.

Under the Tiruvallur Police protection Tiruvallur people celebrated Kaanum Pongal with great happiness, with the help of security provided by the DSP Rajendran.
