Siliguri: On 24.3.2022 afternoon acting on specific intelligence officers and men of Bhaktinagar Police Station detained one truck bearing registration No. WB19F/6721 at Chotto-Fapri, and on search recovered the following contraband liquor in the brand name Royal Son Whiskey: 30 cartoons containing 12 bottles of Royal Son Whiskey 750 ml in each cartoon (360 bottles), 44 Cartoons containing 24 bottles of Royal Son Whiskey 375 ml in each cartoon (1056 bottles).
The contraband liquor was being transported clandestinely from Arunachal Pradesh for its illegal sale in Bihar.
The truck along with the contraband liquor has been seized and the driver cum owner of the vehicle namely Sunil Kr Singh of Lenin Colony Matigara has been arrested and taken into custody.
A specific case has been registered at Bhaktinagar Police Station and investigation is on.
