Rachakonda: In an ongoing drive against Drug/Ganja Peddler to check the menace of Ganja selling in the Commissionerate and to create a sense of safety and security among the College going students and youth not to fall into Drug network, C.P. Rachakonda invoked PD Act against one of the Interstate Ganja Peddler Arun Singh alias Shankar(27) and detained him in Central Prison Cherlapally, on 31-10-2021.
The accused Arun Singh alias Shankar hailed from Dhoolpet of Hyderabad city. He is running a provision shop in his area. In greed of money he along with his associates Mankari Satish, Mankar Satish formed a gang and started procuring Ganja from one Ismail of the Visakhapatnam area. After procuring the same he is selling in retail to needy customers at a higher price. He purchased Ganja at the rate of Rs.1000/- per Kg and sold the same to the needy people from his Kirana shop at the rate of Rs.3500/ per kg. Thus, he is making quick money.
On credible information on 23.12.2020, Uppal Police apprehended his associates Shaik Ismail, Mankari Satish, and Mankari Prakash while they were transporting Ganja in an auto. Police seized 100 kilograms of Ganja along with auto and remanded them to Judicial Custody. In pursuant to the confession of his associates, he was absconding, avoided police apprehension for a long time. Subsequently, he was involved in a couple of cases under cricket betting and was arrested by Mangalhat Police of Hyderabad city on 05.08.2021. Later, he was also regularized in the case of Ganja Peddling of Uppal Police Station. With a view of preventing him from indulging in such Drug Peddling activities, CP Rachakonda invoked PD Act against him and detained him in Central Prison, Cherlapally on 31.10.2021.
