Rachakonda: In an ongoing drive against habitual offenders to create a sense of safety and security to the General Public within the limits of Commissionerate CP, Rachakonda invoked PD Act against one habitual and notorious house burglary offender and detained him in the Central prison, Cherlapally on 12-02-2021.
Previous history of the Offender:
The accused proposed detenu Balija Vicky alias Vicky Bhai alias Vicky hailed from Ramagundem of Peddapally District erstwhile of Karimnagar District. He studied up to 10 Standard. Later, he gave up his further studies and started working in Movie shootings as daily wage labor. He was first arrested by Jublihills Police in November 2016 for his complicity in a theft case and was remanded to judicial custody. He was bailed out in the above case and along with his childhood friend Ram Prasad again committed house burglaries in the limits of Tarnaka, Habsiguda, and Nallakunta of Hyderabad City. By this time, he was arrested by OU Police in 2018 remanded to Judicial custody, and was detained under PD Act. He was released from detention on 09-08-2019. He was again arrested by Malakpet Police for his complicity in house burglaries vide Cr No: 41/2020 Under section 454,380 IPC of PS Malakpet and remanded to judicial custody on 23-02-2020. After releasing on bail in the above case, he again indulged in similar criminal activities and committed house burglaries within the limits of Rachakonda Commissionerate and committed as many as (06) house burglaries within the limits of Medipally, Uppal, and LB Nagar.
Acting on a tip-off, Medipally Police arrested the accused Balija Vicky alias Vicky Bhai alias Vicky on 26-12-2020 and recovered Gold ornaments weighing about 11 tolas, Silver ornaments weighing about 200 grams, Rs20,000/- net cash, and one Motorbike from his possession and from his friend.
As such, with a view to prevent him from committing such house burglaries in the area and to preserve public order, the Preventive Detention orders under the provisions of PD Act are invoked against him by Mr. Mahesh M. Bhagwat IPS., Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, and detained him in the Central Prison, Cherlapalli on 12-02-2021.
