<![CDATA[The police plan to re-introduce two-way traffic along Krishnaswamy Road where one-way traffic was implemented two years ago. Senior police officials said that a proposal was discussed at the traffic meetings, and the system was likely to be introduced from December. The new City Police Commissioner, Mr. K. Periaiah would inspect the stretch before taking a decision. It was in December 2015, the one-way traffic pattern was introduced along the 1.7 km stretch. Vehicles from Avanashi Road flyover were not allowed to enter the road. These vehicles had to take the Mill Road and Sukrawarpet Junction to reach Flower Market Road. According to senior officials, they have been getting petitions from several citizens and residents’ association to reintroduce the two-way traffic pattern along the Krishnaswamy Road. The petitions said that motorists from Avinashi Road and Tiruchi Road were facing difficulty in accessing Krishnaswamy Road as the entry from the flyover was closed. Similarly, the entry and exit points of a mall along the stretch too would be changed when the two-way traffic pattern comes into effect. The traffic signals along the stretch at Syrian Church Junction, near Kikani School, and at Chinthamani Junction on Mettupalayam Road too will be re-arranged accordingly.]]>
