Nellore: Operation Parivartan-2 “, aimed at non-essential villages, was a success in the Nellore district. The event was organized by Seb JD Ms. K Srilakshmi under the supervision of SP CH Vijayarao for two months from April 15 on government orders. Areas of high production, sale and smuggling of liquor have been identified across the district. With a definite plan, SEB and police officers in the area jointly raided and seized the liquor, and destroyed the gingerbread manure.
The police did a cordon, and conducted a search operation. The suspects were taken into custody. Awareness seminars were organized to bring about change in the traders along with the eradication of liquor. The youth were advised that liquor should not be a slave. They made vows with the villagers that they would not allow the making of liquor in their areas. Nellore district SP Mr. CH Vijayarao IPS told to media that since April 15, 81 cases have been registered and 79 accused have been arrested. 75 kg of jaggery, and two vehicles were seized. The SP explained that two traders were arrested for supplying jaggery to some breweries.
