Telangana, Rachakonda: The family of Constable Peddolla Prashant Reddy, who tragically passed away, contributes to organ donation.
Demonstrating remarkable humanity, the family of Constable Peddolla Prashant Reddy, who recently succumbed to injuries sustained in an accident while on duty at Kandukuru Police Station under the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate, chose to donate his organs to save the lives of others. Despite their profound loss, the family displayed extraordinary generosity and compassion.
On the night of December 28, while returning home after completing his duty, Prashant Reddy was struck by an unidentified vehicle, sustaining severe head injuries and losing consciousness. He was rushed to Malakpet Yashoda Hospital for treatment but sadly passed away on Saturday.
His organs, including kidneys and liver, were donated by his father, retired Assistant Sub-Inspector Nagireddy, and his wife, Soumya Jeevan Dan. Rachakonda Police Commissioner G. Sudhir Babu IPS commended the family for their noble act, stating that those who donate organs continue to live on through the lives they save. The commissioner assured the bereaved family of full support and sanctioned ₹90,000 for the funeral expenses, which were conducted in Uppal on Sunday.
Maheshwaram ACP Lakshmi Kanta Reddy represented the Commissioner at the funeral and paid respects to Prashant Reddy’s mortal remains. Other attendees included Kandukuru Inspector Sitaram, Rachakonda Police Officers Association President CH Bhadra Reddy, Rachakonda Cooperative Society Director Suvarna, and his batch mates, who gathered to honor his memory.
