Pala: Pala SHO Mr. KP Thomson has arrested Nibin Wilson, 40, of Thidanad Poovathingal, for allegedly making a phone call to Achayans Gold Jewelery in Pala and asking for help in taking away 20 grams of gold held hostage by a financial institution.
The incident related to the case was on February 26. That afternoon, Nibin phoned Jewelry to ask for help with the gold he was holding hostage at a financial institution in Pala. The jewelry owner sent the staff to a financial institution.
The staff paid Nibi Rs.50, 000 to take the pledged gold. Nibin returned the Rs.5, 000, believing that he only needed Rs.45,000 to take the gold. Nibin then climbed into the second-floor of the financial institution. The accused then escaped with the money through a corridor at the back of the financial institution.
The phone was off when the jewelery staff contacted Nib, who had not seen him for some time. The jewelery owner, who identified the fraud, lodged a complaint at the police station.
The accused was arrested by the team of police comprising of Principal SI Mr. Abhilash MD, ASI Mr. Biju K Thomas, Senior Civil Police Officer Sherin Stephen and CPO Mr. Ranjith C.
