Pathanamthitta, Kerala: In an excellent display of professional policing, the Pandalam Police, under the leadership of Pathanamthitta District Police Chief R. Anand, IPS, successfully arrested two Tamil Nadu natives involved in a major housebreaking and gold theft case at Kaipuzha, Pandalam.
The accused, identified as Isaki Ramesh (32) of Tirunelveli district and Ganesh (23) of Valliyoor, Tamil Nadu, had allegedly broken open the front door of a house and stolen 51.5 sovereigns of gold ornaments in the early hours of January 29. The theft came to light when the homeowner’s mother visited the house later that morning, following which a case was promptly registered and a detailed investigation was launched.
Acting swiftly, a special investigation team was constituted on the directions of the District Police Chief. Under the supervision of Adoor DYSP G. Santosh Kumar, Koduman Circle Inspector Sreelal Chandrasekharan and Pandalam Circle Inspector Prajeesh T.D., along with Sub-Inspector U. V. Vishnu and the dedicated DANCEF team, the police carried out an intensive investigation. Nearly 500 CCTV cameras across the district were meticulously examined. The team identified a suspicious white Swift car with a fake registration number, traced it to Tamil Nadu, and successfully tracked down the accused.
Despite the complexity of the case and the inter-state trail of the offenders, the relentless and coordinated efforts of the police team led to the swift arrest of the culprits within a short period. Preliminary inquiries have revealed that the accused were also involved in similar offences in Karnataka, and further investigation is underway to ascertain their links with inter-state burglary gangs and to identify other possible associates.
The dedicated, systematic and tireless efforts of the Pathanamthitta District Police have earned appreciation from the public, once again demonstrating the force’s strong commitment to protecting property and ensuring public safety.
