Siliguri: Almost eight years ago to date, a man named Nirdosh Toppo, a resident of the Hansqua area in Bagdogra, had stabbed his wife, Usha Toppo, multiple times in the chest over some family dispute, killing her on the spot.
The gruesome incident, which occurred on the evening of 07.10.2013, was painfully witnessed by the couple’s daughter. Following the murder, the Bagdogra police initiated a case.
The IO of the case SI Mr. Biswajit Bose swung into quick action, arrested the accused immediately, and conducted a meticulous, detailed, and flawless investigation, putting in his extremely hard work and dedication.
After timely completion of the investigation, he submitted Charge Sheet against the accused Nirdosh Toppo to face his trial in the open Court of Law.
The custodial trial of the case lasted for eight years in the Court of the Ld Additional District Judge, 2nd Court. Siliguri.
Eventually on 28.08.2021, the Ld. Additional District Judge, 2nd Court, Siliguri, sentenced the accused Nirdosh Toppo to Rigorous Imprisonment for Life u/s 302 IPC, along with a fine of Rs.1 lakh.
It is humbling for Siliguri Police Commissionerate that due to the dint of hard work and dedication of SI Mr. Biswajit Bose, a victim woman, and her daughter attained justice. Officers like SI Mr. Biswajit Bose are pride and inspiration for the police department.
