Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu : The City Police have detained a man involved in a recent petrol bomb incident under the Goondas Act, following recommendations from senior officers.
The accused, earlier arrested in connection with throwing petrol bombs in Tirunelveli and surrounding areas, was found to be repeatedly engaging in activities that threatened public order. After reviewing the case, the Deputy Commissioner of Police and other senior officers recommended preventive detention.
Acting on this, the Tirunelveli City Police Commissioner ordered his detention under the Goondas Act. The accused has been lodged in Cuddalore Central Jail as per the proceedings.
Police officials stated that strict action will continue against those involved in acts that disturb peace and public safety.
