Thrissur City: Kunnamkulam POCSO Court judge Lisha A. sentenced Jamaluddin (52), a resident of Punnayurkulam, Ezhikotayil, to four life terms and ordered him to pay a fine of Rs. 3 lakhs as compensation to the victim. The court specified that the life imprisonment sentences are to be served consecutively, meaning Jamaluddin will remain in prison for the rest of his life without the possibility of release. This severe sentence reflects the gravity of the crimes he committed.

The incident that led to this conviction occurred on March 17, 2023. Jamaluddin was accused of subjecting a minor boy to unnatural abuse. The parents of the victim reported the incident to the Vadakkedakad police, who promptly registered a case and initiated an investigation. During the investigation, it was revealed that Jamaluddin had also been involved in another case of child molestation. As a result, the Kunnamkulam police registered a separate case against him for molesting another child.

The investigation team, led by Inspector Amritarangan and Senior Civil Police Officer Bindu KG, worked diligently to gather evidence and build a strong case against Jamaluddin. The prosecution was represented by Advocates Ranjika and Ashwathi KN, who worked alongside Special Public Prosecutor KS Binoy and GASI Geetha M. Additionally, Civil Police Officers Bineesh and Ratheesh contributed to the case preparation and provided essential support throughout the trial.

The court’s decision to impose four life sentences, along with a substantial fine, underscores the seriousness with which the judicial system views crimes against children. The sentence serves as a strong message to society about the consequences of such heinous acts. The court’s order also highlights the importance of providing justice and support to the victims and their families, ensuring that they receive the necessary compensation and closure.

This case has drawn significant attention due to the nature of the crimes and the multiple offenses committed by the accused. It has also underscored the need for vigilance and proactive measures to protect children from abuse and exploitation. The court’s judgment is seen as a critical step in upholding justice and ensuring that perpetrators of such crimes are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.
