Madurai: On August 28, 2023, a judgment was delivered in the POCSO Special Court regarding a case at the Melur All Women Police Station. The accused, identified as Jeyabal @ Siva Balan, aged 35/23, son of Periyasamy was charged under the POCSO Special Act. The investigating officer, Inspector of Police Mrs. Kanjana Devi, led the case, while Court Constable WHc 335 Mrs. Jothi assisted.
The accused was sentenced for imprisonment along with fine. Additionally, the victim will receive compensation of Rs.6,000,00/- as ordered by the court.
