Ernakulam Rural: Ernakulam: The Ernakulam Rural police have launched ‘Operation Clean’ within the Perumbavoor police station limits as part of efforts to free the place of miscreants and drug menace.The police, as part of Operation Clean Perumbavoor, in Ernakulam Rural District apprehended two individuals not employed by the state in possession of 63 bottles of heroin. Ariful Islam (26) and Alfikus Zaman (27), both hailing from Nowgaon Burbanda, Assam, were detained by a special investigation team under the leadership of Perumbavoor ASP. Acting on a tip-off, they were apprehended from the Kali Chanta area of Perumbavoor. The heroin, transported from Assam by train, was being distributed in bottle form. Additionally, they were found in possession of an Apple mobile phone valued at Rs.45,000, stolen from the Aluva KSRTC bus stand last Friday. Earlier last Thursday, the same team had arrested a resident of Bengal with 3 kg of ganja from Perumbavoor Thandekad. ASP Pimohit Rawat IPS, SI PM Razik, ASI PA Abdul Manaf, Senior CPO Manoj Kumar, TA Afzal, Benny Isaac, and others comprised the investigation team.
