<![CDATA[The almost day-long search for the truck and its driver, involved in the hit-and-run case near Aluva that claimed three lives and left one injured, ended late on Friday with the police arresting a 27-year-old Rajasthan native. The arrested man was identified as Ram Chandra, a native of Nagur district in Rajasthan. On the basis of the evidence collected from the accident spot and CCTV footage from the Paliyekkara toll plaza, the police traced the Gujarat registered bullet tanker (GJ 01 DZ 0587) from the Kumabalam toll plaza. According to Police officals“The lorry was seized while returning from Cherthala after offloading the chemical consignment. On an alert, we rushed to the plaza and interrogated the driver, who later admitted to the accident’’. The vehicle is currently stationed at the Kalamassery Armed Reserve police camp.
