<![CDATA[2 people were arrested by the Hyderabad Police as they were involved in drawing off money from other bank customers’ accounts by using debit/credit cards on Friday. The details of the arrested accused have been revealed. Mohammed Afrozuddin (34), a car driver from Chandrayangutta and Pankaj Sachdeva (32), an unemployed man from Sun City and a native of Moga district in Punjab. The accused after obtaining the card details and security pins of various banks’ customers from a data provider after payment Bitcoins cloned bank cards by using magnetic strip readers and writer-swiping machines Additional Commissioner of Police (Task Force)Mr. S. Chaitanya Kumar said as he was explaining the modus operandi of the accused that the two accused would enter the procured data in a software ICQ and withdraw money using the cloned cards. The original card holders would realise the fraud only after money is withdrawn from their accounts, without any hint on how their cards got misused. The police recovered two laptops, swiping machines, bank cards and two mobile phones from the accused. On a piece if discreet information received by the Hyderabad Commissioner’s task force, east zone, they apprehended Afrozuddin and Pankaj. The accused met each other through a common friend. During interrogation the accused told the police that they hatched the plan to make quick money and downloaded an app which provides the bank card holders’ data along with security number.
