<![CDATA[New Delhi: The Police arrested a woman aged 38 on Thursday in connection with the murder of a minor girl aged 16 in May in outer Delhi’s Mianwali Nagar. Her male accomplice was arrested earlier. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Yadav said that the accused, Gauri was arrested from Haryana. The police said she belongs to West Bengal. After her first husband’s death, Gauri moved to Delhi and started a placement agency with the other accused in 2015. The 16 year old girl, Soni, who worked as a housemaid started demanding her wages after working for a year but the accused kept refusing to give the money. Gauri and her accomplices allegedly killed Soni alias Chhoti in May. The accused stabbed her and then chopped the body into pieces before dumping them in a drain. The police received a call on May 4 regarding the discovery of a girl’s head in a drain in Jwalapuri. The torso and other body parts were found in a bag later. The police arrested Manjeet Karketa following investigation. However, his accomplices Gauri, Rakesh and Shalu had managed to flee. The police had announced a reward of Rs.50, 000 for their arrest and they were declared proclaimed offenders. During interrogation Manjeet told the police that the accused would lure minors from villages in Jharkhand and get them placed as domestic helps but keep their salaries. Mr. Yadav said Police teams are on the lookout for the three accused and they received a confidential piece of information that Gauri had married Kartar Singh to hide her identity and was living in Jind, from where she was arrested.
