<![CDATA[Two persons have been arrested for allegedly circulating Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) across the country including Delhi, the police told on Monday. Fake notes worth Rs.4.5lakh of Rs.2,000 denomination have been recovered, the police added. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Mr.P.S. Kushwah told that the accused, Dilip Shah (32) from Nepal and Anand Dass (48) from West Bengal were arrested on Thursday. The police told that they received a confidential piece of information stating that one Nepal national Dilip Shah would come to Anand Vihar around 10 p.m. to deliver a consignment of FICN to a contact. A trap was laid and the accused was arrested, Mr. Kushwah told adding that 166 fake notes of ₹2,000 were recovered from his possession. During interrogation, he allegedly told the police that he has been smuggling and circulating FICN for the past 15 years. The DCP told that earlier, he used to visit Bangladesh to procure FICN from their counterparts but for the last five years, he has been receiving it from a person in Malda. The police told that the accused further stated that he had come to Delhi to deliver the consignment to Anand Dass, resident of Uttar Pradesh who was also his customer for the past two to three years. Following this, Mr. Dass was also arrested and FICN worth Rs.1,18,000 was recovered from his possession, Mr. Kushwah added. Mr. Kushwah told that during interrogation, Mr. Dass disclosed that he has been in the business for the last 10 years and after procuring FICN from Mr. Shah, he would further circulate in UP, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Delhi among other places adding that Mr. Dass was arrested in 2014 on the same charge.]]>
