Police arrested theft accused

On the night of 19th April 2023, a resident of Chaltlang Dawrkawn reported to the Bawngkawn Police Station that their shop had been broken into, and an unknown miscreant(s) had stolen cash worth Rs. 10,000. The police acted swiftly and began investigating the case immediately.

As part of their investigation, the police developed criminal intelligence and were able to identify a suspect in the case, Vanlalawmpuia, who is 38 years old and the son of Lalsangliana from Kolasib Diakkawn (P/A – Zonuam Aizawl). Vanlalawmpuia was arrested by the Bawngkawn Police Station in connection with the theft.

Upon being interrogated by the police, Vanlalawmpuia admitted to committing the theft and provided details of the crime. Additionally, some of the stolen cash was recovered from him. The police have continued their investigation to determine if Vanlalawmpuia is involved in other criminal activities.

The successful arrest and admission of guilt by Vanlalawmpuia is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Bawngkawn Police Station team. Their swift action and use of criminal intelligence led to the resolution of the case and prevented further criminal activity. The community can rest assured that the police are actively working to keep them safe and protect their property.
