Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, October 1, 2025: With the Arulmigu Mutharamman Temple Dasara festival in Kulasekaranpattinam set to begin on September 23, 2025, and conclude with the Soorasamharam on October 2 and Kavathi Dharithal on October 3, the police have put in place extensive security measures to ensure the safety of devotees.
A consultative meeting was held at Kulasekaranpattinam Annam Mahal on October 1, chaired by Mr. Santosh Hadimani, IPS, Deputy Chief of Police, Tirunelveli Range (In-charge), in the presence of Mr. Albert John, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Thoothukudi District. The meeting focused on the security plan for the main festival days, when lakhs of devotees gather to witness the grand celebrations.
During the meeting, detailed instructions and guidelines were issued to police officers regarding crowd management, traffic control, and preventive measures to ensure a safe and peaceful festival.
Massive Security Deployment
To handle the large influx of devotees, 4,000 police personnel have been deployed, including:
* 10 Additional Superintendents of Police
* 46 Deputy/Assistant Superintendents of Police
* 117 Inspectors and Assistant Inspectors
The security arrangements are being led by officers from Thoothukudi, Tenkasi, Virudhunagar Districts, and Madurai City, under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Thoothukudi District.
The coordinated police efforts reflect a strong commitment to ensuring that the Kulasekaranpattinam Dasara festival is celebrated with devotion, discipline, and safety for all devotees.
