Tamil Nadu, Krishnagiri: The Sipkot police of Hosur, Krishnagiri district, conducted a vehicle inspection in the Suwadi area. During the search of a passing car, they discovered 708 kg of gutka, a substance banned by the Tamil Nadu government, valued at ₹3,48,000, along with Karnataka 48 DK liquor worth ₹3,120. The contraband was being smuggled from KR Puram, Bangalore, to Kanyakumari district.
Upon investigation, the accused was identified as Karna Ram (35), who was transporting the illegal items in a Fortuner car owned by his son, Rang Raj Vazid. The police seized the gutka, liquor, and the vehicle, registered a case, and took the accused into custody, sending him to jail.
