CHENNAI: The Police Commissioner’s Office at Vepery received a telephone call from a person who said that a bomb would explode at Koyambedu market, the Police immediately rushed bomb squad personnel to the spot with sniffer dogs and after conducting a thorough check of the market all night did not find any bomb and found the call to be hoax. The Police said a headed by Mr.Navaneetha Krishnan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) vegetable markets and flower market. The intensive search went on till the crack of the dawn on Tuesday. During the search operation, traders and public were not allowed to enter the market. Due to this business at the market during peak hours was severely affected but no explosive or any suspicious material was found during the search, Police said. The police officials called of their search and said that the call was a ‘hoax’. Police started a probe to find out the particulars of the person who made the hoax call. A special team has been formed to track the caller. We tracked the call to Ambattur, a police official from Koyambedu police station said that.
